Education Certificates & Programs
The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, with the Indian Plumbing Association and the Indian Institute of Plumbing, (IAPMO, IPA, and IIP) have collaborated in the creation and implementation of a strategic, complex, and aggressive Plumbing Education – to – Employment program that is intended to prepare multiple levels of audience groups in India to read, understand, interpret, engage, and apply the provisions of India’s Uniform Plumbing code to initial installations and continued maintenance of plumbing systems.
The initiative is expected to encompass a preparation program for Engineers, one for Contractors/Managers/Supervisors, one for Plumbing Systems Installers and Repairers, and a task training program for Plumbing Construction Workers.
The IAPMO-INDIA Plumbing Education Department consists of a Director of IAPMO Plumbing Education and Certification, located in India; a Workforce Preparation Specialist, located in the U.S.; and a Certification Administrator, located in the U.S. A committee of experts in India has been convened. This committee is vital to the success of initiative. IAPMO’s Director of Career Services is responsible for and will oversee all operations of the IAPMO-INDIA Education Department.
During 2008, the department is conducting job domain analyses for multiple positions, conducting job skill analyses, developing personnel preparedness plans, developing an educational partnership plan, designing a personnel assessment/employability plan, designing an employee retention plan, and developing a training delivery implementation plan.
GreenPlumbers India is a training and accreditation programme of (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) IAPMO India and Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) to assist the individuals and plumbing professionals in understanding their role in protecting the environment and public health through green plumbing practices. It covers 3 modules viz. Water, Climate and Green Plumbing. After attending the 3 days training, the delegates receive a certificate as GreenPlumbers India Accredited Specialist (GPIAS) and also a wallet identification card.
The workshop is of 3 days duration and will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Training will be offered by IAPMO-I’s Domain Expert with requisite qualification in terms of experience and expertise.

Eligibility:
All individuals, students, building and plumbing professionals, engineers, architects, plumbers, having passion towards environment and willingness to contribute towards sustainable development through Green Plumbing, can attend this workshop.
Workshop Fee:
Each participant will pay workshop fee of Rs. 10,000 towards 3 days workshop. The fee includes handouts, teas, lunch and certification.

MECHANICAL EDUCATION TO EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
Skills and knowledge are the engines of economic growth and social development in any country. IAPMO India has in place both Illustrated Training Manual and Mechanical Education to Employment Program.
Countries with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of globalization. There is a growing sense that the past strategies of skills development have been inadequate in addressing the new challenges that India faces. The need for establishment of skill development programs and continuing education system will provide an institutional mechanism to facilitate greater and active participation of the industry, and to better link skill development with the country’s employment demands. The shortage of skilled workforce across many industries is emerging as a significant and complex challenge to India’s growth and future. According to a survey more than two millions of mechanical professional in HVAC-R domain required to meet construction-industry demand by 2020. The growing skills gap is reflecting slim availability of high quality professional in India and the galloping pace of the country’s construction and allied service driven economy, which is growing faster than most countries in the world. As businesses propose to double and treble their workforces and India Inc. strives to maintain its position in the global marketplace, it has become imperative to prepare and plan for a world-class, competent, talented and innovative workforce.
IAPMO India has a great role to play in nation building, the best and most selective way is to introduce the cutting-edge concept of MEEP (Mechanical Education to Employment Program) training to the university youths at the entry level industry in order to tackle the impeding shortage of knowledge workers. This strategy will provide out-going graduates or Diploma Holders to have dual-certification. This will mitigate the existing shortfall of trained professionals at entry level for which, companies today have spent a lot. IAPMO India has firmly installed Plumbing Education System and is now ready to offer Mechanical education systems to Indian citizens.
